Preparations for the 2024 NFL season are officially underway as the Lions' draft picks and undrafted signings took part in minicamp this weekend.

Here's a look at some of the top storylines to come out of Allen Park:

Terrion Arnold is ready to go

The Lions' top draft pick, Alabama CB Terrion Arnold, wasted no time showing what he's all about.

Arnold, officially set to wear No. 0 this fall, earned his first interception of camp as he shadowed Kaden Davis, an undrafted wide receiver trying out with the team this weekend.

While, yes, it's only mini camp, Arnold is fired up about the idea of doing that for real this season. So much so that he's talking about how he wants to celebrate future turnovers — by putting on some Cartier Buffs.

"I gotta go get me some of them. After I catch a pick I gotta put them on," Arnold told fellow draft pick Ennis Rakestraw in a video posted to the Lions' social media pages.

Lions reportedly signing WR after tryout

Davis, who entered the league as an undrafted free agent out of Northwest Missouri State in 2022, apparently performed well enough this weekend to get another look.

Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reported Sunday that Davis is expected to be signed to the Lions' 90-man roster.

Davis had eight catches and a touchdown during the preseason last year with the Arizona Cardinals.

He also spent time in Detroit, playing for the then-USFL Michigan Panthers. He played five games for the Panthers and racked up more than 300 kick return yards, as well as eight catches.

He spent the majority of last season on the Cardinals' practice squad. He was elevated for one game, but did not play, according to Pride of Detroit.

Dan Campbell away from team for personal matter

Head coach Dan Campbell was not on-hand for rookie minicamp as he took time away from the team due to a personal issue.

Justin Rogers of The Detroit News reported the issue keeping Campbell out of camp is not believed to be "a major concern."

Campbell is expected to be back with the team later this month. The Lions will hold their first organized team activities May 21-23.

Schedule release coming soon

While we know who the Lions are playing this fall, we'll soon know when and where they'll be playing.

The NFL is preparing to release the full schedule for the 2024 season on Wednesday, May 15. Lions fans can likely expect a handful of primetime games as they look to build on last season's run to the NFC Championship game.
