Last week the Lions lost a major piece of their offensive line as guard Jonah Jackson got a huge payday with the Los Angeles Rams.
On Tuesday it appears the Lions will be signing a replacement.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported Monday night that former Ravens Pro-Bowl guard Kevin Zeitler plans to sign with the Lions. Zeitler was reportedly flying to Detroit for a physical Monday night and is expected to sign on Tuesday, according to Schefter.
Zeitler, 34, earned the first Pro Bowl selection of his 12-year career last season, ranking 10th among guards in pass block win rate (93.8%) and 25th in run block win rate (61.8%), according to ESPN.
After starting 47 of 51 games over the course of three seasons, Zeitler signed a three-year extension with Baltimore in 2021, worth $22.5 million, according to ESPN.
Zeitler, a former Wisconsin Badger, is reportedly expected to sign a one-year deal with Detroit, though the financial terms were not immediately clear.
Earlier this month Detroit rewarded OL Graham Glasgow with a new contract and signed a number of defensive players, including Amik Robertson, D.J. Reader and Marcus Davenport.
