Basketball icon Magic Johnson, one of the greatest athletes that Michigan has ever produced, has decided who he believes should lead the Detroit Lions into the future.
Thursday, Johnson used his Twitter prowess to support the candidacy of ESPN's Louis Riddick:
Riddick, 51, is slated to interview for the position Friday. Riddick responded to his one-time ESPN colleague's suggestion by thanking him.
A former NFL defensive back, Riddick has worked at ESPN since May of 2013. 2020 is his first year in the Monday Night Football booth, alongside Steve Levy and Brian Griese. Prior to his career in media, Riddick had been the director of pro personnel for The Washington Football Team and Philadelphia Eagles.

Riddick already interviewed for a vacancy in the Houston Texans' front office earlier this week. There does seem to be a real chance that whether it's in Detroit or elsewhere, Riddick will be at the forefront of an NFL front office in 2021.
In addition to Riddick, the Lions are set to interview former Texans GM Rick Smith and former Falcons GM Thomas Dimitroff.
Whoever is ultimately tabbed as Bob Quinn's successor in Detroit will be tasked with picking a new head coach and deciding how to proceed with quarterback Matthew Stafford, among other things.
