The National Football League plans to incorporate the song "Lift Every Voice and Sing" at major events moving forward.
Michael McCarthy of Front Office Sports reports that the song will become "a prominent part of all big league events."
Presumably then, that will include a performance of the song prior to when the defending Super Bowl Champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers host the Dallas Cowboys to kick off the 2021 season, before Super Bowl LVI and ahead of the 2022 NFL Draft, among other events.
Any performance of "Lift Every Voice and Sing" won't replace the playing of "The Star Spangled Banner," but instead likely be in addition to it. For example, the NFL had performances of both "America The Beautiful" and "The Star Spangled Banner" before Super Bowl LV, so one would presume they'll use a similar format in incorporating this song.
Last year, the NFL had 15-time Grammy Award winner Alicia Keys perform a version of the song that was played ahead of all Week 1 games:
