Nothing gets fans passionately fired up than new merchandise, but New Era found out on Tuesday that sometimes passion is not necessarily a positive.
The clothing brand released its new "Local Market" hats, which included area codes and other symbols — such as the Statue of Liberty on the Yankees hat and a palm tree on the Dodgers hat —prominently displayed.
Basically, there was a lot going on and fans of all teams were not liking it as they voiced their disdain on social media.

The most amazing thing about the hideous New Era Local Market hats is that there are still people who will buy them.

Things apparently got so bad, the New Era website appears to have pulled the line of hats off the shelves — at least for now.
Of course, as with most things baseball these days, fans could not resist throwing a jab at the Astros among it all.
