LOS ANGELES (KNX) – A United States Olympic volleyball player said she was attacked by a homeless man in Los Angeles on Saturday.
Kim Glass explained the incident on her Instagram story, saying that she was leaving a lunch in Downtown Los Angeles when a homeless man ran up to her.

“He had something in his hand, he was on the other side of the car in the street,” she explained. “And he look at me with some pretty hateful eyes and, um, and I turned to go tell my friend, ‘I think something’s wrong with him. I think he’s gonna hit the car’…before I knew it, a big metal bolt, like pipe, hit me…”
A group of bystanders held down the man and helped Glass until emergency officials arrived.
Glass pointed to her swollen left eyes and said she had fractures on her face. She also said she had to get stitches.
Glass credited to the support of her friends and family and that she’s ok.
The man’s identity has not yet been revealed.
Glass competed on the women’s U.S indoor volleyball team at the 2008 Beijing Olympics where she won a silver medal.
