(97.1 The Ticket) -- The Pistons didn’t look too far from home for their second pick in Thursday night's draft.
With the No. 42 overall pick, Detroit selected Isaiah Livers out of the University of Michigan.
Livers, a native of Kalamazoo, averaged 13.1 points and 6.0 rebounds and shot 43 percent from three last season before a foot injury ended his year. He underwent surgery in April.
Livers spent all four years of his college career in Ann Arbor, growing into his role as the team’s leader in 2020-21, only to see his season cut short for a second straight year.
He was a large part of the Wolverines’ offense each of the last two seasons, and his three-point shooting gives him a chance to thrive in the NBA.
The Pistons will be getting a player who many believe has first-round talent, but slid to the second round due to his injury.
Livers was the second Wolverine to be drafted Thursday, following Franz Wagner, who went 8th overall to the Orlando Magic.
