Ric Flair is arguably the greatest professional wrestler of all time, and has accomplished everything there is to accomplish in the game.  He has nothing left to prove.

Still, that will not stop the 73-year-old two-time WWE Hall of Famer from stepping back into the ring for “one more match” this summer.’’

Flair will lace up his boots for a match at the Nashville Fairgrounds this July, his first match since September 12, 2011.

Flair said in a statement to ESPN, “I'm going to walk that aisle one last time to prove once and for all that to be the Man, you've got to beat the Man.”

Flair was employed as a “Legend” with WWE, but asked for his release in 2021, which was granted.  The 16-time world champion was most known for his work in the NWA and WCW, which was WWE's biggest rival in the 1980s and 1990s, but  also performed in WWE for parts of two decades, as a wrestler and on-screen manager.

What’s worrying is that Flair has suffered a bevy of injuries and health scares over the last few years, including kidney failure and dialysis treatment following bowel surgery in 2017.

He was hospitalized for more than a month but has said he’s been in solid health since the scare.
