There are some in the NBA world, including former 17-year veteran Eddie Johnson, who believe Draymond Green should be suspended for stomping on the chest of Kings center Domantas Sabonis. And there are some who don't think a suspension is warranted.
Among those siding with Green were his teammates Klay Thompson and Stephen Curry, Portland Trail Blazers guard Damian Lillard, and Hall of Famer Shaquille O'Neal.
The good news for Green is it appears that the league has sided with him.
According to Shams Charania of 'The Athletic,' "it is looking unlikely" that Green will be suspended for Game 3 against Sacramento.
"Those around the situation expect a fine for Green, but that he will be available for Game 3 given the ejection, Flagrant Foul 2 and circumstances around the incident with Sabonis," Charania relied from his sources.
Green defended his actions postgame, saying, "I got to land my foot somewhere, and I'm not the most flexible person. So it's not stretching that far."
Green also requested an X-ray after experiencing soreness in his right ankle, the same one Sabonis grabbed before the stomping incident occurred, Marc J. Spears of ESPN reported.
