Tom Brady began his Let's Go! podcast with Jim Gray on SiriusXM radio Monday night by addressing the ESPN report from over the weekend that he's retiring from the NFL.

“It was a good week for me and I am still going through the process I said I was going through," he said. "Sometimes it takes some time to really evaluate how you feel and what you want to do. I think when the time is right I’ll be ready to make a decision one way or the other just like I said last week.”

Brady added: “We’re in such an era of information and people want to be in front of the news often, and I totally understand that. I understand that’s the environment we’re in. I think for me, literally it’s day-to-day with me. I am just trying to do the best I can every day and evaluate things as they come. I am trying to make a great decision for me and my family.”

So, does Brady have a timeline for the decision?

“Only I know when the time is right," he said. "… There’s a lot of interest in when I am going to stop playing. I understand that. It’s not that I don’t recognize that, when I know I’ll know and when don’t know I don’t know. I am not going to race to some conclusion about that.”

The quarterback admitted he did not like that the rumors of his retirement dominated the football weekend, which was Championship Sunday in the NFL.

“I was actually a little bit disappointed that that would actually play some part of what’s going on in NFL football," he said. "It’s such an amazing sport, it’s a great sport. The focus should be on those great games.”

The NFL world will continue to wait.
