Freddie Freeman's first home run as a member of the Los Angeles Dodgers came against the team that he hit his prior 271 bombs as a member of.

Monday, Freeman's Dodgers welcomed the Atlanta Braves to Chavez Ravine. And in his first at-bat against the team he spent 12 seasons of his career with, Freeman hit an opposite-field home run off of Huascar Ynoa:

Despite him winning the National League MVP in 2020 and leading them to a World Series title in 2021, the Braves traded for Matt Olson this past offseason with Freeman still a free agent. Olson, 28, received an eight-year/$168 million deal on his way in the door.

After the Braves pivoted elsewhere, the 32-year-old Freeman landed a six-year/$162 million deal with the Dodgers in free agency. By all accounts, the Braves weren't willing to guarantee a sixth year to the five-time All-Star.
