Last month Miguel Cabrera made history by becoming the 33rd player in Major League history to join the 3,000-hit club. He also joined an elite club all his own.
On Thursday night he made a little more history, tying legendary Tiger Al Kaline with 3,007 career hits. That hit -- his second of the night -- came on a fourth-inning single driven straight back up the middle to center field.
Mr. Tiger's widow, Louise Kaline, released a statement Thursday night, saying "Al often said that Miguel was the greatest hitter he'd ever seen."
