There are no days off when it comes to recruiting in college football, especially when a Manning is involved.

It’s no secret that Georgia is among the programs in the mix for Arch Manning—the latest phenom in football’s first family. The 6’4, 215-pound rising senior at Isidore Neman (LA) was in Athens this past weekend for his third visit, and according to DawgNation’s Mike Griffith, there’s a quiet confidence that the Bulldogs could be in prime position to land the top prospect in the class of 2023.

“A lot of people still think Georgia is the leader in the clubhouse, including me,” Griffith told the Morning Show on 92.9 The Game.

As you’d expect, Manning holds offers from just about every power five program with Alabama, Texas and Ole Miss appearing to be the favorites alongside the Bulldogs.

Griffith expressed that having a strong NIL framework in place could play a key role in a program’s final recruiting pitch to Manning. UGA launched their “Classic City Collective” this offseason to enhance its standing in the NIL space.

Earlier today, it was reported that the Crimson Tide are waiting on a commitment decision from Manning before taking any other quarterbacks in their upcoming class. Manning is reportedly set to take a visit to Austin this weekend.

For Ole Miss, they rolled out the red carpet during Manning’s visit to Oxford in October 2021 and coincidently had his last name painted in the end zones for his uncle Eli’s jersey retirement ceremony at the same school where his grandfather, Archie, became a college football legend.

There’s still plenty of time in the 2023 recruiting cycle and the craze around Manning will only intensify in the coming months.
