West Virginia Men’s Basketball Coach Bob Huggins resigned from the program over the weekend after he was arrested to DUI in Pittsburgh.

According to reports, Huggins told Pittsburgh Police officers he was thought he was in Columbus, three hours away.

He failed a sobriety test after his vehicle was found blocking traffic with a shredded flat tire around 8:30 p.m. on Friday evening.

Empty beer cans and a cooler were found in the vehicle. He was three times over the legal limit.

“West Virginia University is aware of an incident last night involving Head Men’s Basketball Coach Bob Huggins, for which was charged with DUI . . . in the City of Pittsburgh. We are gathering more information and will take appropriate action once review is complete,” the university said in a statement.

Huggins then resigned, but Fan Morning Show co-host and die-hard West Virginia fan, Adam Crowley, says he should’ve been fired.

“It felt like a family member letting me down,” Crowley said about Huggins, who just a month and a half ago was suspended and fined after using a gay slur and made offensive comments about Catholics during a radio interview in Cincinnati.”

“He needs to be gone,” said Crowley. “He’s a danger to himself and society, hopefully he gets the help he deserves and needs, but that’s a bad, bad guy move.”

Dorin Dickerson said that it was self-destructive behavior by Huggins and that he almost wanted to be caught and be done.

Crowley adds West Virginia enabled the 69-year-old, sounding drunk during the Cincinnati sports radio interview. “He needed to be fired then.”

Luckily no one was seriously hurt or killed, but Huggins put his life and others in danger and Crowley says that’s unacceptable and the higher ups should’ve fired him instead of the coach resigning.

“He should’ve been fired now, that to me looks bad too, they should’ve fired him then and when you get a second change, you think you’re untouchable,” said Crowley.
