Listen: Here's what Saints fans should know about the upgraded Caesars Superdome

The new Caesars Superdome is ready for its big debut, so what exactly should fans expect?

Ben Hales, Executive Vice President of Saints Marketing, joined Mike Hoss to discuss the Saints' offseason upgrades and the long-running renovated process ahead of Super Bowl 59.

"This was about creating a transformative experience," Hales said. "It wasn’t just about new wallpaper or lights or anything else, it was trying to figure out in the modern stadium, part of the experience is having a really positive, seamless experience with not a lot of hassle and the amenities that fans expect, and that’s really what I think we’ve delivered."

As with anything changes will come with adjustments, particularly for fans who are used to the same routine on gamedays. There will be gate changes, and the Saints app will be a valuable tool to getting all that information, Hales said. Gone are the ramps that used to be the main way to traverse the building, replaced with escalators aimed at a more modern way to move around the building.

“That phone and your ticket are your best friend for getting all those answers right at your fingertips,” Hales said.

Losing the ramps meant 100,000 square feet or reclaimed space around the building that's allowed for wider concourses, better food service, even 40-yard long bars that stretch the sidelines on the lower level.

The Saints showed off those new amenities for the first time in the preseason finale against the Titans, but they'll be tested at full capacity on Sunday when the Carolina Panthers visit for the regular season opener.
