The New Orleans Saints will be bringing their training camp back to Louisiana in July after a year spent in California, but fans won't have to wait that long to get a close-up look at the new head coaching era.
That's because the team is planning to open two of its veteran minicamp practices to the public, something they have not done in previous seasons. Those practices will be held on June 10 and 11, starting at 11:50 a.m. in Metairie.
Tickets for the practices are free of charge, but space is limited. Season ticket holders will be able to reserve tickets at neworleanssaints.com/minicamp starting at 9 a.m. on May 13. Reservations will open to the rest of the public at 10 a.m. that same day.
The practices will be the first open sessions held at the Ochsner Sports Performance Center since 2023, with the Saints moving their 2024 training camp out to Irvine, California, as work was done to renovate the team's cafeteria and indoor training facility.
Fans in attendance for minicamp practices will get their first look at Kellen Moore as Saints head coach and his largely rebuilt staff, along with the nine draft picks, 11 UDFAs, and returning players. Veteran minicamp is mandatory, so all players on the 90-man roster are expected to be in attendance.
That group will include second-round pick Tyler Shough, who is expected to compete with Spencer Rattler and Jake Haener for the starting job after the retirement of Derek Carr. Shough has been seen thus far at the rookie minicamp over the weekend, and the Saints will host three OTA sessions starting later in May heading up to the full minicamp.
