Saints nab Pitt's Bub Means at No. 170, adding weapon in WR room
The New Orleans Saints added a wide receiver weapon with their second pick of the 5th round, snagging Pitt's Bub Means at No. 170.
Means was the fourth pick of the Saints in the 2024 draft, three on the offensive side of the ball. Means is listed at 6-1, 212 pounds and represents a physical, albeit raw prospect in the WR room.
Means appeared in all 12 games for the Panthers in the 2023 season, catching 41 passes for 721 yards and 6 touchdowns. He'll join a WR room that includes young standouts in Chris Olave, Rashid Shaheed and A.T. Perry, along with veterans Cedrick Wilson and Equanimeous St. Brown.
Means, a Georgia native, began his college career with Tennessee as a defensive back before transferring to Louisiana Tech, where he switched to wide receiver.
The Saints have three picks remaining in the draft, having already selected Oregon State OT Taliese Fuaga at No. 14, Alabama CB Kool-Aid McKinstry at No. 41 and South Carolina QB Spencer Rattler.
