There are a lot of emotions that go into watching your son's dreams come true at the NFL draft, and the parents of LSU star Brian Thomas Jr. didn't disappoint.
After the star LSU wide receiver was picked No. 23 overall by the Jaguars, Thomas' mother, Sondra, was flanked by Brian Thomas Sr. as she chatted with reporter Laura Rutledge and was asked "how far this family has come."
Sondra's answer was as literally accurate as it was hilarious: "We came from Baton Rouge, Louisiana," she said confidently, nodding as she waited for any followups.

Unfazed, Rutledge continued, asking about the journey and what it's meant to the family.
"It's amazing," she continued. "It means the world. I'm so grateful to God. I'm so happy for him and so proud of him."
Thomas joined former teammates in QB Jayden Daniels (Commanders, 1.2) and WR Malik Nabers (Giants, 1.6) as first round picks in the 2024 draft, and they'll likely be matching up on opposite sides of an NFL field before long.
