A Michigan woman attempting to set a Guinness world record for kayaking the entire length of the Mississippi river completes her journey in South Louisiana.
As Nola.com reports, Traci Lynn Martin completed her trek down on Sunday. It took her 55 days, eight hours, and 17 minutes to paddle down the river
"So, I did it," she said in a video posted to her Facebook page. "I'm at Mile Marker Zero and I'm so happy and I don't know why I'm crying."
She went on to thank everyone on social media for their support. Martin is a nurse from Michigan, who is attempting to set a record for the fastest time for a woman to paddle down the river in a canoe or kayak. Martin said the unofficial Guinness record is 61 days.
