What kind of ally is the US to Israel as it withholds information about Hamas hiding places?: Newell
All roads lead to Rafah in the showdown between Israel and Hamas that is quickly spiraling into a sideshow between the United States and Israel.
A bombshell report says that the U.S. offered to give Israel information about Hamas hiding places in exchange for Israel not bombing Rafah, a city in Gaza where thousands of ousted Palestinians are sheltering. WWL's Newell Normand was astonished the Biden Administration had been allegedly sitting on the information until it proved useful to us.
"What do you think the citizens of the United States reaction would have been if some countries said to us, oh, by the way, we have intelligence information on where the Hamas leaders are?" Newell asked.
"What message does it sent to the world that we're going to barter intelligence information as to where the Hamas leaders are actually physically located and the tunnels that they're hiding themselves in?"
Newell said the U.S. has to decide if it's really Israel's ally or not, especially considering they are doing exactly in their attack on Hamas what we would do if the situation were reversed.
"Great job, Joe," Normand said. "We're doing wonderful here. We are mis- stepping every which way because you have decided you're going to let politics dictate where you're going. To be honest, you're a chameleon. You cannot be all things to all people. It doesn't work that way. People like leaders who are definitive. They're not distracted by the sideshows. They're willing to consume political capital. They're not going to be with leaders that stick their finger on their tongue and put it up in the air and see which way the wind's blowing.
"The winds have a tendency to change directions, sometimes multiple times in a day with social media and the like. Sometimes you can't even determine where the wind is blowing. So the reality is this: Make up your mind."
