Fans of the burger joint Shake Shack may soon be able to order their favorite burgers while on Delta Air Lines flights, as the restaurant has announced its teaming up with the airline on flights out of Boston.
The partnership kicks off on Dec. 1, with Shake Shack burgers available on flights out of Boston, Delta shared.
But if you don’t live or plan on flying out of the East Coast city anytime soon, don’t worry. Delta said it will add the burgers to more flights in other US markets throughout 2025.
However, even when the burgers are available on your flight, they aren’t available to everyone, as they are only available to customers sitting in first class and on routes longer than 900 miles.
The airline shared that first-class passengers will be able to pre-select a Shake Shack Cheeseburger for their meal option, but the full menu will not be available in the skies. Toppings on the burgers include tomato, lettuce, and ShakeSauce. The meal comes with sides of a brownie, chips, or Caesar salad.
“At Shake Shack, we’re always looking for new and innovative ways to meet our guests where they are, even at 35,000 feet,” Michael Kark, President of Global Licensing at Shake Shack, shared in the statement. “Taking our beloved cheeseburger to new heights, Shake Shack is proud to partner with Delta as we elevate the in-flight dining and hospitality experience for travelers across the country.”
Customers will be able to choose through the Delta app or its website seven days before a flight and ending 24 hours in advance of takeoff.
“A delicious cheeseburger is an iconic comfort food – our customers know that which is why burgers are one of the top ordered menu items we offer, and we’re thrilled to elevate the offering with Shake Shack,” Stephanie Laster, Delta’s managing director of onboard service, said in a statement.
The deal is part of an extension between Delta and Union Square Hospitality Group and Danny Meyer, the founder of the Shake Shack.
