In this digital world we're living in, no doubt that many parents all across the world are worried that too much times on the smartphone or the tablet is ruining the minds of their children.
However, University of Cambridge psychologist Amy Orben said in an article for Mother Jones that parents need not to worry, since many of these claims about screen time are based on "shaky science" at best.
Michael Rich, who runs the Digital Wellness Lab at Boston Children’s Hospital, added that "Screens are not inherently toxic. They’re neutral. It’s what we do with them that matters."
Tablets, iPads, and smartphones can definitely be great tools for kids to use, and denying access to them would seemingly do more harm than good, especially since the world is moving more and more towards a digital way of life.
Obviously, there are dark recesses on the web that it would be best to definitely have your kids avoid, so monitoring your kids' screen time is never a bad idea, but parents need not worry about your kids playing on the iPad too much. It might actually be good for them.
