Following the successful return of McDonaldland character Grimace last year, McDonald’s is bringing back another character that hasn’t been seen for some time.

The Hamburglar is back to help promote the restaurant's new and improved burgers.

“Last year, the Golden Arches began rolling out their hottest, juiciest and tastiest classic burgers ever – with perfectly melted cheese, new soft, pillowy buns and a juicier flavor from adding white onions to the patties while they’re still on the grill,” McDonald’s said in a release.

The Hamburglar has a new getaway car, he’s traveling the country in a 1970 Plymouth Barracuda that has been customized, turned into the Burgercuda.

The car will be traveling coast-to-coast and when someone spots the car and scans the code, they get an Arch Card that they can use to try to new burgers, plus Hamburglar merch.

The getaway car has black and white strips on the interior and exterior, just like the Hamburglar’s clothes, bun-like hubcaps, a spare tire that looks like a giant cheeseburger, a burger warming area in the center console and more.

McDonald’s is also offering free burgers for a year. You can find more about that promotion here.

“McDonald’s built a legacy on serving delicious burgers, but anytime we have an opportunity to make the best even better, we take it,” said Tariq Hassan, Chief Marketing and Customer Experience Officer at McDonald’s. “It's no surprise these changes caught the attention of our biggest burger fan – the Hamburglar. We’re excited for fans to join in on the fun as they look for him on his burger-stealing spree. You never know where he’ll pop up next.”
