Kevin Spacey supports RFK Jr. for president

On Monday, actor Kevin Spacey announced that he was backing Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s independent presidential campaign, saying that he was sticking by someone who stuck with him amidst his legal troubles.

“There’s a lot I can learn from this man,” Spacey wrote on X. “When the world turned its back on me, Bobby leaned in.”

Spacey, 64, described Kennedy as a “formidable fighter for justice and a loyal friend,” adding that he stands up for what he believes.

The endorsement from the Academy Award winner and former “House of Cards” star came a day before it was reported that a civil suit in the UK by a man who alleges he was sexually assaulted by Spacey would head to trial.

Spacey has been accused of sexual assault in the US and abroad, and last July, he was acquitted of sexual assault charges by a jury in London.

A New York jury found Spacey not liable for battery in a civil suit in 2022. That suit was brought against him by Anthony Rapp, who accused Spacey of making a sexual advance on him in the 1980s.

Despite his family’s name, Kennedy has struggled to gain significant backing from those in Hollywood, earning support from Rob Schneider and Adam Carolla.

Last month, Kennedy’s own family decided to draw a line in the sand, with several members of the Kennedy family, including RFK’s siblings, backing President Joe Biden.

Current polls that include Kennedy as a candidate with Biden and former President Donald Trump show him polling around 10%.
