The television drama, Yellowstone, hooked millions upon its riveting pilot episode in 2018, but Chris Lane and his wife, Lauren, got hooked to more than just its gripping storyline.

The couple, who welcomed their son, Dutton Walker Lane, on June 8 in Nashville, recently revealed their baby’s name was inspired by the highly-popular series. Dutton, is the family name of the main character, John Dutton (played by Kevin Costner), who is a sixth-generation rancher facing challenges of the modern world politics, businesses and family struggles.
“We definitely got the name idea from Yellowstone,” Chris said in a recent interview with PEOPLE. “We were huge fans of the show and watched all three seasons and have been waiting on the new one. We loved that last name and thought, ‘Man, that sounds like a good first name for a boy.’
While avid fans of the show may believe the middle name, Walker, came from the series’ resident bluegrass musician and former prisoner, Walker (played by Ryan Bingham), the couple says it actually came from a lawnmower.
“I have a mower that I mow my yard with and it's called a Walker mower,” shared Chris. “And Lauren thought, ‘Oh, that's a cute boy's name as well,’ so Walker was actually in the running with Dutton and then we decided, ‘Why don't we just make that his middle name?’ That's how that happened.”
“All after Chris' lawnmower,” Lauren replied. “Yellowstone and a lawn mower.”

Chris and Lauren continued on to share how much they are enjoying being a family of three, revealing they cope with the challenges of being first-time parents by laughing and get through it together.
“I feel like you just have to laugh your way through,” said Lauren. “The moments of pure exhaustion have been challenging, but Chris is so sweet and helpful… He's really stepped up and I appreciate it. I'm just really thankful that we have each other because at least there's someone there with me to understand what we're going through together.”
