Brothers Osborne made a virtual appearance on “Good Morning America” yesterday where they talked about their new album “Skeletons,” and performed their new track “Hatin’ Somebody.”
The duo notes that it wasn’t exactly easy making this record, with TJ sharing, “Between like mental health stuff, physical health stuff, a pandemic, a hurricane knocking the power out in East Nashville where we recorded, it felt like multiple times we were never going to finish this record.”
The pair notes that the song “Hatin’ Somebody” is particularly timely considering the world we are currently living in. John notes they knew it would come out in the middle of an election year so they expected things to be “tense.”
He adds that his favorite lines in the song are, “You need a paddle on the left, paddle on the right. Cause we're all in the same damn boat/Hatin' somebody ain't never got nobody nowhere,” and admits “honestly, I need to remind myself of that very lyric.”
