The 2020 CMT Awards went down Wednesday night, and while the show was supposed to happen in June, it was definitely worth the wait.
The telecast, hosted by Kane Brown, Ashley McBryde and Sarah Hyland, took place all around Nashville, at locations throughout Music City and middle Tennessee. And while there wasn’t a live audience there, there was a viewing party that featured socially distanced fans in masks, as well as some piped in cheers.
The big winner of the night was definitely Carrie Underwood, who, for the second year in a row, took home trophies for Video of The Year and Female Video of the Year, this time for her clip “Drinking Alone.” Her two wins brings her grand total of CMT Awards to 22, giving her the most wins of any artist in CMT Music Awards history.
Carrie was the only multiple winner of the night!
The night's other winners included Luke Bryan, Male Video of the Year for “One Margarita,” Gabby Barrett, who nabbed Breakthrough Video of the Year for “I Hope,” Dan + Shay, Duo Video of the Year for “I Should Probably Go Too Bed,” Old Dominion, Group Video of the Year for "One Man Band,” Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani, Collaborative Video of the Year for “Nobody But You,” and Chris Young, CMT Performance Video of the year for his "CMT Artists of the Year" performance of “Drowning.”
