It's that time once again to GET REAL.. This week's topic - PLEASE LEARN HOW TO USE YOUR TURN SIGNALS!
In case you didn't know, there is a newfangled invention that comes with every vehicle alerts the drivers around you to where you are trying to go called turn signals. BONUS - You get two of them!
They're SUPER simple and easy to use. Literally with the flick of your wrist, you can make a light turn on and off delighting the driver in front and behind you for awareness of their presence on the road!
I'm not sure what it is about turn signals that seems so difficult to drivers, but it's literally the easiest thing that you can do while driving! Somehow drivers have managed to multi-task putting make up on (including eyeliner!), eating a five course breakfast, texting all of their friends about the latest drama on Game Of Thrones with no typos in their crazy names, changing their clothes from last night's party wear to their work clothes, reading the whole Harry Potter series, ALL of the crazy things that your SHOULDN'T be doing behind the wheel, but when it comes to using a turn signal BEFORE taking a turn/merging, it's just too much.
Let me give you a little tutorial on how to properly use a turn signal:
Step 1 - Make sure you know where you're going! Directions are key!
Step 2 - Allow yourself sometime before merging/the turn to alert the presses that you would like to merge/make a turn.
Step 3 - TURN ON TURN SIGNAL!
Step 4 - Make sure no one is in the lane you're merging into/no one is around the area that your trying to turn into.
Step 5 - Turn or merge in an orderly fashion.
EASY RIGHT?!
It really isn't that hard of a process and yet we make it out to be. I swear, if more people would start using turn signals the world would be a better place and I could quite possibly have less road rage.
