We love seeing local, hard working and driven Pittsburgher’s get their shot at the big leagues and “THE CRUSHER KID” Michael Norris has got his!!

Norris, out of Sarver PA., is a 2-time, back to back track champion at Lernerville Speedway and is always the car to beat in the super late models. This year started out rough for his #72 Rocket Chassis but luck was changing when he wins the preliminary night at Lerneville Speedway at the Firecracker 100.

Then Clint Bowyer Racing’s Don O’Neil suffers an off track injury leaving the car unmaned for 8-12 weeks. That’s when the crusher kid comes in.

Norris gets a call from NASCAR driver and team owner Clint Bowyer and asked him to drive the car and Norris hasn’t stopped smiling since.

A local driver, who’s hard work and never give up attitude landed him a pro ride and he is definitely turning heads in the Lucas Oil Dirt Late Model Series.

Listen to Norris talk to Cowboy Curt about his experience of being a professional late model driver.
