While the Toby Keith show itself was a big topic of the weekend, the bigger story was about Corporal Brandon Rumbaugh.
Toby brought Brandon on stage Friday to give him an all-terrain, tracked wheelchair worth $16,000!
We can't help but love to recognize Toby for being a hero for all that he does for our veterans, but Brandon is the one behind this story that we wanted to learn more about.
Brandon talked to the Y'd Awake Morning Show about his experience overseas, as well as his appreciation for Toby and The Independence Fund that made this experience happen. Try getting through his one without locating some tissues!

While Brandon continues to thank Toby, The Independence Fund and organizations that support veterans, the thanks should be giving to Brandon, all of the veterans and those that are actively serving.
We might not vocalize it enough, but we appreciate all the scarfies that veterans or those who are activing serving have made in their lives for our own safety. Forever grateful. If you're a veteran, just know that we appreciate you and would like to thank you for your service.
