It's a sad day for dog lovers, especially Miranda Lambert.
Miranda took to social media Thursday night to write a sweet tribute to one of her late rescue dogs, Waylon, who passed away at the age of 13.
"I found him and his sister on the side of the road in Oklahoma in January 2008. They were abandoned, starving and freezing nearly to death," Miranda wrote on her Instagram.
Miranda said she named the pups after Jessi Colter and Waylon Jennings, who she and her mom had been listening to when they pulled over to pick up the dogs.
"He was a rock in our family and always held down the fort. He lived his life with no fences. The way we all want to live."
Miranda continues by saying, "Dogs change your life. The bond is something that can't be described unless you have lived it."
For anyone who has lost a pet, you know it is like losing a member of the family.
My heart goes out to Miranda for the loss of her fur baby.
