Netflix announced this week that it's managed to nab all 180 episodes of Seinfeld from streaming rival Hulu, adding that the series will be coming to the platform globally beginning in 2021.
It was announced earlier this year that the popular sitcoms Friends and The Office will be leaving Netflix in 2020 and 2021.
The finances of the deal haven't been released by either Sony Pictures or Netflix, but reports say that Netflix paid "far more" than the $500 million that NBCUniversal paid for The Office and the $425 million WarnerMedia paid for Friends.
Netflix already hosts Seinfeld's latest show Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee and his modern standup specials, but the prior relationship was not a factor in the new deal.
