While some of us are moving on to the next holiday and getting our Thanksgiving Day plans in order, some are still stuck on the "problems" they have with Halloween..

..Last week it was reported that online petitions are gaining traction for calling for the cancelation of school the day after Halloween.

According to the petition-gathering website Change.org, more than a million people from different school districts in different states across the United States have signed online petitions calling for no school on November 1st.

Two of the viral petitions that were calling for the Friday shut down were started in the Pasco and Polk County school districts in Florida, were started by students. The school district made it very clear, they had nothing to do with the petition.

The petition says, "Kids should not have to go to school after Halloween as it would be incredibly dangerous to do so, due to the multiple adults that are hungover. I do not want to be hit by a car the day after Halloween walking to school, or get into a car accident because of it."

Polk County school district made light of the situation stating, "the honesty of students who signed the petition, as well as their comments, including 'Because I don't wanna go to school right after consuming 50 pounds of candy,' schools will be open on November 1st."

The Pasco County School District also wanted to address the concerns of the students/parents and make light of the situation by saying, "We hope you have a safe and happy Halloween. Our school nurses will be ready to assist you with any candy-related ailments when you return … on Friday."

There is no word just yet if these school districts, or any of the other school districts that are on Change.org, will be changing their school schedules for next year.
