The 2020 Billboard Music Awards are finally set to go down tonight, and since fans have been waiting for months (it was supposed to happen earlier this year) it's bound to be a great night of music.
Host Kelly Clarkson is set to open the show with a cover of Whitney Houston's version of Steve Windwood's "Higher Love," alongside Pentatonix and Sheila E, and there will be plenty more great performances to follow.
Other performers on the bill include Kane Brown with Swae Lee and Khalid, Luke Combs, Doja Cat, John Legend, Post Malone, Sia, Demi Lovato, BTS, , Bad Bunny, Brandy featuring Ty Dolla Sign, En Vogue, and Saint Jhn.
In addition, Garth Brooks will be honored with the Icon Award, and will perform a medley of hits from thirty-plus year career.
As for this year's nominees, Luke Combs, Maren Morris and Dan + Shay lead this year's country pack with four each. While all three are mostly recognized in Country categories, Luke is recognized in the all-genre fan-voted Billboard Chart Achievement category, while Dan + Shay nabbed an all-genre Top Duo or Group category.
The 2020 Billboard Music Awards are tonight on NBC at 8 pm.
