When you hear the name Steven Tyler, you think of the man that is known for his wild stage presence and amazing vocal range, but on Monday, he used his unique voice for something different; To stand up for women who have been abused.

Earlier this week, Steven Tyler opened up Janie's House right outside Memphis, Tennessee, which is a home for women who have faced neglect and abuse.

The facility is named after the Aerosmith's 1989 hit "Janie's Got a Gun," about a girl who seeks revenge on her abusive father.

The renovated house in Bartlett, Tennessee, will be a home for dozens of girls each year who have suffered from abuse and is a part of Youth Villages. Youth Villages is a nationwide organization to help children deal with a wide range of emotional, behavioral and mental problems.

Steven contributed about half a million dollars to Youth Villages through his program, Janie's Fund, as well as designed all the artwork in the building.

Wow Steven Tyler! You're a stand up guy!
