It doesn't matter if a veteran has a family by blood or not, thousands became Joseph Walker's family and friends at his funeral in Killeen, Texas yesterday.

Air Force veteran Joseph Walker passed away in November at the age of 72 due to natural causes, but no family members stepped up to plan the funeral for him.

The funeral home took a call to action on social media and got a lot more reaction than they expected.

Reports indicated that the line of cars to get into the cemetery was 5000-6000 cars long, that included thousands of people traveling from all over the country to come to Joseph's funeral.

Joseph served in the Air Force from 1964 to 1968.

RIP Joseph Walker and thank you for your service.
