A "Wizard Of Oz" Remake Is In The Works

Just when you thought there is not one more possible movie that could be remade, Hollywood steps forward with another one..

More than 80 years after the original film, New Line Cinema is planning on doing a remake to the Hollywood classic, "Wizard of Oz".

Nicole Kassell, who is set to direct the reboot, told Variety magazine, "While the 1939 musical is part of my DNA, I am exhilarated and humbled by the responsibility of re-imagining such a legendary tale."

In the same interview, Nicole says, "The opportunity to examine the original themes - the quest for courage, love, wisdom and home - feels more timely and urgent than ever.."

It is being reported that this version will not be a musical, but a "fresh take" and will "re-imagine" the classic 1939 tale.

There is no report as to who the cast would be or when production on the film will begin.
