Holding the microphone while hosting wasn’t the only time Urban’s fresh ink was on full display, it was also front and center as Urban ripped on his guitar during his high-energy performance of his song, “Tumbleweed,” off his album The Speed Of Now Part 1. Urban’s performance took place at Nashville’s Grand Ole Opry House.

For some, the tattoo wasn’t new news. A handful of fans spotted the new body art in a video posted to Urban’s Instagram account a little over a month ago as he asked Mickey Guyton to be his co-host for the award show via FaceTime.

“I was thinking it would be kinda cool if I had someone to co-host with me this time,” Urban shared before putting in a surprise FaceTime call to Guyton. “She is the best!” Urban said after hanging up.

Urban was a three-time nominee at this year’s show, receiving two nods as an artist and one as producer. Although he wasn’t a winner this year, he still holds 12 ACM wins over the course of his career.

Co-hosting Sunday night’s show wasn’t the first time Urban and Guyton shared the ACM stage. Last year, Guyton made history as the first black female to perform solo on the stage with her song “What Are You Gonna Tell Her,” while accompanied by Urban on piano.
