Tyler Rich’s New Year’s Eve started off in a pretty depressing and bizarre way.
The country singer was on a jog in Massachusetts when he discovered a dead body in a park. Tyler at first ran past the man, thinking he was just homeless, but turned back just to make sure he was okay, which is when he made the gruesome discovery.
In a recent interview, Tyler said, "I realize he isn't breathing, and as I get around to the front of him, all I see is a lifeless face covered in blood. Everywhere. Looked like maybe shot, or blunt force. At this moment, I freak out and sprint up the steep hill to try and find anyone with a phone to call police."
Tyler found a couple who let him use their phone, and then waited for police to arrive to give a statement. Cops say it may have been a suicide, since they found a gun in the man’s hand.
“I’m doing what I can to process this, the image, the reality. It’s been a rough 24 hours. Something I’ll never unsee or forget ... He looked like a young, normal kid. Someone with a family probably wondering where he was.”
Tyler took to social media about the experience, finishing his statement by encouraging those who are struggling to talk to him or someone that can help them by saying, "I’m always available to all of you.
