A new survey finds job satisfaction at its highest level ever.

In July 2022 the U.S. Labor Department was reporting record job dissatisfaction, as people quit work in record numbers. But the Conference Board says job satisfaction is now the highest it has been in 35 years, when they began the survey.

UNO professor Mark Rosa says so many people changed jobs in the last few years, that they are still happy with where they ended up.

"Just a little confidence: 'I'm going to work, I'm at the job that I had, that I want, or the job that I changed to, and it's a fresh start for me,'" said Rosa.

Just over 62 percent of survey respondents indicated overall satisfaction with their jobs — the most since 1987.

Rosa said this is a case of the grass being greener on the other side — and people going there and liking it.

"People that were on the job 10 and 15 years or more were finding themselves leaving jobs that they had that many years and going to a completely different industry in which they had no experience, and that was an interesting set of circumstances," said Rosa. "Had they not had the push of COVID, I don't think they ever would have considered that."

Rosa says this also indicates the "Great Resignation" is likely coming to an end.
