What would you do if you thought your delivery driver spit on your package?
A UPS driver is now out of a job after a customer said she saw him allegedly spitting on a package while checking her Ring camera doorbell footage.
According to TMZ, the incident happened at the home of Ann Patton in Ocala, Florida. The sunshine state resident said she saw something on the camera that led her to think that the driver spit on her package.
The woman said that UPS was scheduled to come that day and pick up a separate package that was supposed to be ready for the driver. Patton added that she was never told about this UPS pickup, so she never left anything outside her front door to be retrieved.
However, Patton claimed when the driver arrived at her doorstep and the package was nowhere to be found, he picked up an Amazon package that was already there and began spitting on it.
UPS spoke to TMZ about the incident.
UPS reported that the driver was a temporary holiday driver who has since been fired.
Now, UPS said that the man mistakenly thought it was a package for him to pick up. By following the UPS protocol, the man blew on the label to clean it off to place a UPS label on it.
The company believes the driver realized it was the wrong package and just left.
UPS is still investigating this incident.
