(1080 KRLD)- The Breckenridge Fire Department has reported that one individual was injured with another losing their life during a bee attack at a home in North Texas.

The Fire Department, Stephens County Sheriffs Deputies and American Medical Response (AMR) were called out to the incident on Monday afternoon located on Water District road 214.

Notified that one of the persons involved had been severely stung and subsequently went into cardiac arrest, the emergency services entered the home "through a swarm of bees." A firefighter then removed his protective clothing in order to shield the second individual in the home.

The Fire Department said one person did not survive the incident with the other taken to hospital for treatment.

The hive at the center of this, seemingly located within a tree, was later removed by firefighter Chad Skiles and local beekeeper Joey Venekamp.

"When all Patients were removed from the scene, Sheriffs Deputies and firefighters went door to door and advised people not to use outside noise making equipment until bees could hive back up and calm down," the Fire Department said in a Facebook post.

"Please keep this family in your thoughts and prayers during this traumatic and sad day. First responders were faced with the daunting task of patient care and treatment during the attack and remained professional through the event."
