Hi it’s me, Chelsea, your friendly neighborhood star girl (aka that weirdo who won't shutup about the sky)
The Orionid meteor shower peaks tomorrow morning, October 21st! The best time to watch is early morning (I’m waking up at 3am to check it out and then taking my sleepy behind right back to bed).
These meteors aren’t known for being the brightest, but they are known for leaving persistent trains, or ionized gas trails that last for a few seconds after the meteor itself has gone.
And if you catch one, you’ll be able to say you saw Halley’s Comet’s cloud!
Our planet is currently passing through the stream of debris left by Halley’s Comet, which is Orionid’s parent comet.
Happy stargazing!
