So it's come to this, huh? We've got some good news and bad news from a new study out of Israel. The good news: The researchers found a way that people who lose weight can actually keep the weight off once they hit their goal.
The bad news: It involves EATING POOP.
The researchers found that when people took, quote, "frozen microbiome capsules created from one's own feces" after a diet, they were more likely to keep the weight off.
Why? The researchers say one of the keys to keeping your metabolism healthy and managing your weight is through your gut bacteria. So by introducing small amounts of your feces to your gut, it keeps everything regulated in there.
Of course, you shouldn't start eating your own feces to test this out . . . it has to be specially treated so you don't get sick.
Plus, you know, it'd probably be good to wait for at least one more study to confirm this before you go, "Yup, bring on the poop."
