Shortly after releasing her last album Chemtrails Over The Country Club in March, Lana announced her next project, which was at first titled Rock Candy Sweet now Blue Banisters. By May, she had shared three tracks from the album,"Blue Banisters," "Wildflower Wildfire" and "Text Book." But on Saturday, without an explanation, she informed the masses the arrival of Blue Banisters would have to wait.

“Album out later later… Single out soonish. Have a good fourth x,” the singer wrote on Instagram alongside music video preview for the new her song coming “soonish.”

In a follow-up post, Lana showed off the album's updated cover image, possibly due to the internet coming for her original graphic. Lana is seen sitting next to two dogs on an outdoor deck, captioning the post, “TBD,” of course in reference to the release date.
