INWOOD, N.Y. (1010 WINS) — A man and two women were arrested after an unruly fight at a Long Island home on Wednesday night ended with a cop's back being jumped on, police said.
The fight started when Ashanti Eskarge, 21, punched a 19-year-old in the face, causing significant pain and a cut to her lower lip inside the Inwood home on Loretta Street.
Police said that the punch caused a fight to break out between a 16-year-old girl, two other women, 37 and 19, and Destiny Rodriquez, 19, who also lives on the street.
All three victims were hurt when they were allegedly pepper-sprayed inside their home through open windows by Rodriquez and an unidentified man.
A large group of people gathered around the home and began to yell as the man fled on foot, police said.
Police said Destiny Rodriquez was sitting in the back of a police car when Fahyim Rodriquez told police he was going to "knock them out."
Shawanda Eskarge allegedly jumped on the officer’s back, trying to intervene in Fayhim's arrest. Both of them were then arrested.
Destiny Rodriquez is charged with three counts of second-degree assault and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon.
Fahiym Rodriquez is charged with second-degree obstructing government administration and resisting arrest.
Shawanda Eskarge is charged with second-degree obstructing governmental administration and was issued an appearance ticket.
