EAST MEADOW, N.Y. (1010 WINS) — A Bronx man kicked a Nassau County police medic in the lower abdomen at a hospital on Tuesday afternoon, causing her to fall and suffer injuries to her back and left hip, police said.

Rakim Gould, 34, had been taken to the hospital because he was having a "medical episode" at the Nassau County Courthouse in Mineola.

At the hospital, police said he became "violent," kicking the medic, causing her to fall backward and strike a hospital cart. The medic was treated for her injuries.

Gould, who was arrested and charged with second-degree assault, will be arraigned when "medically practical," police said.
