
DEPTFORD, N.J. (1010 WINS) — A truck hauling chicken waste products was involved in an accident with a vehicle on Route 55 northbound in Gloucester County Monday, causing the truck to spill its contents on the roadway, officials said.
No injuries have been reported as a result of the accident, which happened around 9 a.m. in Deptford, according to Gloucester County Emergency Management.
The waste hauler is working with state officials to ensure proper cleanup, while Gloucester County and state environmental officials are monitoring.
New Jersey State Police and the New Jersey Department of Transportation have been called to the scene, as have multiple fire departments to help with clean-up efforts.
Only the right lane of southbound Route 55 was still blocked as of 2 p.m.
