
NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Police are investigating after two pedestrians, both 75, were killed in separate Queens crashes, authorities said on Wednesday.
The first incident happened at approximately 6 p.m. on Tuesday, February 21, officials said.
Police responded to a 911 call of a motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian struck at the intersection of 47th Avenue and 192 Street in Auburndale.
Upon arrival, officers observed 75-year-old Ana Rosa Infante lying on the roadway, with injuries to her head and body.
EMS responded to the location and transported Infante to New York Presbyterian Queens Hospital, where she was died on Friday, March 3, police said.
Further investigation by the NYPD Highway District's Collision Investigation Squad determined that an 18-year-old man driving a 2022 Lexus IS350 sedan, was traveling eastbound on 47th Avenue at Hollis Court Boulevard when he struck Infante while she was crossing northbound on 47th Avenue, at the intersection.
The driver remained on scene and was not injured.
On Tuesday, March 7, at about 6:15 p.m., police responded to a 911 call of motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian struck at the intersection of 193rd Street and Jamaica Avenue in Hollis, police said.
Further investigation by the NYPD Highway District's Collision Investigation Squad determined that 75-year-old Rosaline Tulshi was crossing Jamaica Avenue at 193rd Street, when she was struck by a 2004 Toyota Camry traveling westbound on Jamaica Avenue.
Tulshi was transported to Jamaica Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
The 19-year-old driver remained on scene and was not injured.
There have been no arrests made in either incident, and the investigation remains ongoing.
