4 officers injured after NYPD cars collide while responding to shooting call

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Four NYPD officers were injured when two police cars collided while responding to the same job in Brooklyn on Thursday night, police said.

The crash happened at 9:40 p.m. at the intersection of E. 24th Street and Avenue Z in Sheepshead Bay.

Two officers were in a marked NYPD cruiser and the other two were in an unmarked vehicle.

The four officers were responding to a call of shots fired when they crashed.

All of them were taken to an area hospital, where they were in stable condition.

The front of the cruiser was destroyed, while the unmarked car had damage to its driver’s side, video shows.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
